This paper examines contemporary Arab authors who managed to find balance in their work by using classical Arab literary elements together with the new literary structures and storylines from modern times. The study analyzes how Arab authors Mahmoud Sami al-Barudi and Ahmad Shawqi and Naguib Mahfouz and Taha Hussein adapted their writing to political social and cultural changes through their perspectives on colonialism nationalism and modernism. The research approaches its analysis through qualitative examination which entails textual investigation and evaluative criticism of chosen revealing literature. The findings confirm both the ongoing development of thematic elements with new stylistic developments alongside Arab literature’s central part in national identity formation. The article demonstrates modern Arab literature emerges as a vigorous cultural output because it manifests traditional elements united with innovative practices.
Shaista Firdous, Muhammad Saeed Iqbal Copyright (c) 2025 Zakariya Journal of Education, Humanities & Social Sciences https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://journals.airsd.org/index.php/zjehss/article/view/514 Sun, 23 Feb 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Public Health Crises from Floods in Pakistan: Climate Risks, Health Outcomes, and Pathways to Resilience https://journals.airsd.org/index.php/zjehss/article/view/523
Pakistan's increasing vulnerability to climate-induced flooding presents a severe public health challenge, with devastating consequences for population health. The literature based research highlights the public health crisis, damages and climate risk associated with flood. For the purpose, the research examines the 49 peer reviewed studies to assess the health risks associated with flood. For the purpose, the search strategy included Google Scholar, Web of Science, Science Direct, Scopus to gather the appropriate data, whereas, the non-relevant data were excluded from the strategies. The analysis reveals three critical health consequences: (1) acute physical trauma and drowning incidents during flood events, (2) secondary outbreaks of waterborne (cholera, hepatitis E) and vector-borne (dengue, malaria) diseases in post-flood periods, and (3) chronic mental health conditions among displaced populations. Besides that, the psychological, mental, social impacts were deemed to be the observed due to the flood. Particularly affected are marginalized communities with limited access to healthcare, proper sanitation, and stable housing. The findings highlight systemic weaknesses in disaster preparedness, including inadequate medical supply chains, insufficient emergency healthcare infrastructure, and fragmented disease surveillance systems. These results argue for comprehensive policy reforms that combine climate adaptation strategies with strengthened public health systems, emphasizing community-based preparedness programs and targeted protection for high-risk groups. Therefore, the study recommends the policies for mitigating the flood related diseases as well as preparedness before flood for the sustainable development.
Shahnaz Bhutto, Wang Suyuhan, Kainat Vighio Copyright (c) 2025 Zakariya Journal of Education, Humanities & Social Sciences https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://journals.airsd.org/index.php/zjehss/article/view/523 Mon, 10 Mar 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Corporate Social Responsibility and Performance of Nigerian Banks: A Quantitative Approach https://journals.airsd.org/index.php/zjehss/article/view/527
This study examines the impact of the aspects of corporate social responsibility (CSR) on the performance of Nigerian Banks with specific references to three commercial banks, including Zenith Bank, First Bank and Access Bank. Secondary data such as annual financial reporting on contribution education, ecological sustainability, healthcare, transportation services, and contributions to Covid-19 relief from 2019 to 2022 were used to analyse with the help of PPMCC and linear regression. The results show that individuals and combined CSR efforts, including education, environmental tolerance, charities, charities, transportation services, healthcare and support for Covid-19-AID products, have all impacts on the financial performance of Nigerian banks. This underscores the diverse advantages that Nigerian financial institutions have derived from their engagement in CSR undertakings, particularly in the face of challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. The study concludes that CSR initiatives can play a significant role in improving the financial performance of Nigerian banks. Banks should therefore make CSR a priority and invest in initiatives that are aligned with their business goals and the needs of their stakeholders. As a result, the study suggests that it is essential for banks to continue and actively participate in socially responsible initiatives. This approach can prove attractive to investors who place significance on corporate social responsibility.
O. R. However, the effectiveness and acceptance of ICT control e-learning is influenced by learners' expectations and the extent to which experience of these expectations agrees. This study uses Expectation Theory (EDT) to analyze the effects of ICT on eLearning, focusing on how learners' favorable expectations affect their satisfaction and their coping with digital learning platforms. This paper examines how fulfillment or separation of these expectations, such as user-friendly, content quality, technical reliability, and user support, affects students' perceptions of e-learning systems. By examining the gap between expected and actual experiences, this study highlights the role of disruption in confirming learner satisfaction, learner motivation, and the continued use of ICT-enabled teaching instruments. Positive conversations (actual experience exceeds expectations) tend to increase satisfaction, while negative interruptions (if expectations are not met) can lead to frustration and can be resolved. This study provides valuable insight into educators, teachers and political decision-making. It is intended to optimize the use of ICT in educational settings. Understanding the dynamics of expectations and disruptions can help improve our e-learning platform by being more closely aligned with learners' needs and preferences. The results highlight how important it is to manage expectations and continually evaluate the user experience to ensure the success and sustainability of an ICT-enabled learning environment.
Dr. Rani Siti Fitriani SS M Hum, Dr. S.R.
